CHJ Automotive, a Chinese electric vehicle (EV) startup, was founded in 2015 by Chinese entrepreneur Li Xiang, who also founded New York-listed information services provider Autohome Inc. In 2018, the company completed a B Series of fundraising of 3 billion yuan ($477 million) from a group of investors led by Matrix Partners China, Beijing Shougang Fund and Intime Retail Group. It has raised over 5.7 billion yuan since being established. Leading Ideal, the company’s newly launched intelligent EV brand, is an innovative product line that uses smart technology to improve EV driving experience. On April 10, 2019, the company announced its first model Leading Ideal ONE. In June 2018, the Beijing-based electric vehicle startup Chehejia officially changed its brand name to Leading Ideal, or Lixiang in Chinese.
